Having fun with my Bahamian friends
I have spent the past two spring breaks working on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. As a part of a 30-person team, I helped roof houses, repair school buildings and perhaps most enjoyably, entertain local children. Since I like traveling and meeting new people, time spent with the Bahamian kids was especially fun, and also because they are full of energy and share my love for playing games. Though I experienced a lifestyle different from my own, there were elements within the Bahamian culture that are present in every society, and I was able to share my perspective of an American lifestyle with the people on the island and gain a new understanding and appreciation for the easy going island way of life.
